Where Voices Unite in Harmony
Taking choir in school provides students with a unique opportunity to develop vocal skills, musicality, and confidence while fostering teamwork and self-expression. Singing in a choir enhances breathing, posture, and vocal control, while also improving memory, concentration, and listening skills. Choir encourages collaboration, as students work together to create harmonies and deliver powerful performances. It also builds confidence through public performances and nurtures a sense of community and belonging. Whether students aspire to pursue music professionally or simply enjoy singing, choir offers a fun and rewarding experience that enriches their education and personal growth.
Students in 7th-12th grade can participate in choir at LCCA. Students learn the fundamentals of singing – posture, breathing, and tone control. Students participate in concerts and IACS Fine Arts competitions each year. In addition, choir members are able to attend the Great Lakes Music Festival at Maranatha Baptist University and All Stand Band and Choir Festival. While there, they receive personalized instruction from college professors and professional musicians. Private voice instruction is also available during the school year.
